After some digging, I found out that it wasn't a brown lacewing (they are usually about a half-inch long; this things was about 3 inches). But with that as a starting point, I did figure out that this was a female <A HREF="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dobsonfly" REL="nofollow">dobsonfly</A>.
